$12B OASIS draft RFP moves closer

GSA expects to release a draft RFP for OASIS by the end of November, with the final solicitation coming out in March.
The General Services Administration is getting closer to releasing a request for proposals for its $12 billion OASIS professional services contract.
FCW is reporting that a draft RFP will be out at the end of November, with final version coming by late March.
The contract will be used by agencies to buy professional services, such as management and consulting, professional engineering, logistics, and finance. The plans is to structure the contract with a full-and-open vehicle and a small business vehicle.
Speaking at the Coalition for Government Procurement’s fall conference this week, Todd Richards, acting deputy director of the OASIS program office, said that examples of work under the contract could range from responding to natural disasters to helping agencies reorganize.
The government spent $79.9 billion on professional services during fiscal 2010, half of which was through cost-reimbursement contracts, Richards said.
GSA officials have said that OASIS will help agencies streamline acquisitions because it is difficult and complex to buy the kind of professionals services OASIS will offer.
The market research arm of Deltek estimates that the contract will be worth $12 billion over 10 years.
