Veritas Capital founder dead at 59

One of the leading investors in the government market died Sept. 10, in an apparent suicide.

Robert McKeon was the founder of Veritas Capital, a private equity group that was very active in the federal market. He was found dead in his home in Darien, Conn., according to published reports. His survivors are his wife and son and a previous wife and their three children. He was 59 years old.

Some of Veritas’ investments included Vangent, DynCorp, McNeil Technologies and CRGT Inc.

WashingtonExec published a statement from Bloomberg New York mourning McKeon’s passing: “Bob was an extraordinary person, a consummate professional, and a cherished friend and colleague. We are all deeply saddened by this tragic loss and have his family in our thoughts.”

Veritas has several current investments in the government market including the SI Organization, which was a divestiture from Lockheed Martin Corp., and CRGT.
