Harris wins task-order contract with Navy for the procurement of a variety of radios.

Harris Corp. has won a $296.7 million contract for handheld, manpack, fixed mount, vehicular and base station radios for the Navy, according to a Defense Department announcement on Aug. 30.

Under the firm-fixed-price contract, Harris will provide radios belonging to the AN/PRC-117, AN/PRC-150 and AN/PRC-152 configurations of radio families.

All work will be performed in Rochester, N.Y., and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2017.

Contract funds will not expire at the end of  fiscal 2012.

The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command is the contracting activity. While DOD said the contract was put out for competitive bidding, Harris was the only company to respond.
