ASRC makes further hiring, promotion moves

The Greenbelt, Md., company recently has hired two contracting veterans and promoted a third.

Under his leadership, the company consistently earned Level 5 ratings of the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) during the past 10 years.

Government contractor ASRC Federal Holding Co. continues to expand its leadership ranks, hiring Timothy Caswell as president of new ventures and Michael Knowles as president of Mission Solutions Engineering LLC, an ASRC Federal subsidiary.

Earlier this month the Greenbelt, Md., company hired Leif Henecke as CIO responsible for aligning ASRC Federal’s IT vision with its enterprise business strategy.

Formerly president and CEO of Mission Solutions Engineering LLC, an ASRC Federal subsidiary in Moorestown, N.J., Caswell now will be responsible for establishing and acquiring new capabilities in target growth markets, the company said in its May 24 announcements.

“Tim Caswell brings extensive experience in U.S. government sales, especially within the defense market,” Ken Asbury, ASRC Federal president and CEO said in the announcement.

Prior to joining the ASRC Federal family of companies, Caswell served as vice president and general manager of Computer Sciences Corp.’s air, missile and national defense business area, where he was responsible for a $400 million business and more than 1,400 employees.

In addition to CSC, his experience includes the Strategic Defense Initiative Organization/Ballistic Missile Defense Organization and the U.S. Air Force.

Knowles will be responsible for leading Mission Solutions Engineering’s more than 500 employees in providing custom, integrated systems and software engineering solutions to support defense and other government customers.

Knowles previously was senior vice president of operations, directing the company’s technical operations.
