Grant Thornton names new director of tech industry practice

Grant Thornton LLP has named Steve Perkins the firm’s new national managing director of its Technology Industry Practice, which encompasses the software, telecom, life sciences and clean technology sectors.

He will lead the U.S. team and will develop and execute strategies to assist technology companies grow profitability and manage risk. He will also foster institutional acceptance with the technology industry investment community, according to Grant Thornton’s May 9 announcement.

Perkins has previously held executive positions with Oracle and Northrop Grumman Corp.

A board member of TechAmerica and a past board member of the Virginia Public Buildings Authority, Perkins has a bachelor's degree in history from Le Moyne College and a master’s degree in public administration from American University.
