Kratos secures $86M to train Navy workforce

National-security technology company will provide specialized training to the Naval Eduction & Training Command or NETC.

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions Inc. has scored a Navy contract with a $86.4 million ceiling to provide training for the Naval Eduction & Training Command.

The NETC is a new client for Kratos, which supplies national-security related products and services. The work will involve training analysis and technology-based training development services for NETC.

Kratos will provide training for Navy surface-combat systems, submarine operations, naval engineering, intelligence and cybersecurity domains.

Kratos was chosen because of its skills in web-based training, serious gaming, desktop simulation and social-learning solutions, according to an April 10 newswire announcement.

The NETC is a unit within the Navy that provides training and education to protect national security and foster peace and prosperity. The command develops its workforce through education and training that builds personal, professional, and leadership skills, its website said.

The indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract will use new and advanced training technology in a cost-effective way, according to Phil Carrai, president of Kratos Technology and Training Solutions.
