Aveshka acquires Civitas' homeland security business

Acquisition gives Aveshka more offerings to counter physical and cyberspace threats.

Aveshka Inc., a professional services firm in the national security sector, has acquired the Homeland Security and Private Sector Preparedness unit of Civitas Group. Financial terms of the deal were not reported.

The acquisition adds exceptional policy consulting and strategic advisement credentials to the company’s suite of capabilities, the company’s March 23 announcement said.

Civitas Group has long been a trusted partner of decision-makers throughout the defense, homeland security, and intelligence communities, and it has developed a well-deserved reputation for thought leadership on national security issues, the announcement added.

This acquisition will serve as a force multiplier for Aveshka to expand its market footprint and provide more diverse offerings to our clients, Aveshka President and CEO Girish Jindia said in the announcement.

“With this acquisition, we have strengthened our ability to help our clients prepare for and address a diverse range of threats in the physical world and cyberspace,” he said.

Aveshka is a minority- and employee-owned small business located in McLean, Va.
