CNSI calls in MD to operate clinical affairs unit

CNSI, a government provider of technology solutions, has named Dr. Stephen Walker chief medical officer to oversee CNSI Clinical Affairs, including evidence-based medical policy.
Walker joins the company as it continues to transform health care administration with best-practice health care IT and policy, a March 14 CNSI statement said.
He has held executive positions that include Medicaid medical director for the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals, medical director for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee and Louisiana, and clinical regional medical director for United Healthcare.
The Gaithersburg, Md., company currently provides health care solutions and services for state Medicaid projects as well as for those in the federal, military, and commercial health markets.
CNSI has domain expertise in a variety of areas including defense, energy, financial services, healthcare, homeland security/law enforcement and transportation.
Walker holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Louisiana Tech University. He earned his Medical Doctorate and performed post-graduate training in Internal Medicine at Louisiana State University School of Medicine.
He also has a Master’s degree in Public Health from Medical College of Wisconsin and a Master’s degree of Business Administration from Louisiana State University College of Business
