BAE, SAIC share $698M in Navy engineering, IT work
The contractors will provide engineering and prototyping integration, software integration, and technical support services at the Navy’s Charleston, S.C., facilities.
BAE Systems Technology Solutions & Services Inc. and Science Applications International Corp. will provide engineering and software services to the Navy under a five-year contract with a cumulative estimated value of $698.5 million.
The indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity, cost-plus-fixed-fee, firm-fixed-price contracts call for the contractors to provide engineering and prototyping integration, software integration, and technical support services, according to a Feb. 27 Defense Department announcement.
The service providers are required to define, fabricate/prototype, inspect, test, evaluate, and deliver integrated prototype systems or other equipment for strategic and tactical vehicles, and for life-cycle support of C4I tactical vehicles and related systems, subsystems and equipment, the announcement said.
The work, which will be performed in Charleston, S.C., is expected to be completed by February 2013. If all options are exercised, work could continue until February 2017.
The multiple-award contracts were competitively procured by full and open competition via the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center e-Commerce Central website and the Federal Business Opportunities website, with three offers received.
The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic, Charleston, S.C. is the contracting activity.
