Women In Technology awards nominations open

Do you know a woman in the D.C.-metro area who has exemplified unique vision and talent in the technology field during the last year?

If so, you may want to nominate her for the 13th annual Women in Technology Leadership Awards organized by Women In Technology, a group with a mission of advancing women in the technology sector.

Nominations are open until Feb. 24 and WIT members and non-members are eligible. Winners will be honored on May 17 at an awards banquet at the McLean Hilton Hotel in Tysons Corner, Va.

“These are women with big jobs to do that also take the time and effort to mentor their teams and give back to the community,” said Kelly Harman, president of WIT.

This year’s theme "Never Lose Sight" is meant to illustrate how the winners launch new technology solutions on a day-to-day basis, while also focusing on the “big picture”.

Some of these “big picture” items may include business goals, mentoring and self improvement.

WIT is accepting nominations in the following categories:

  • Corporate Leadership – Private Sector (large and small)
  • Corporate Leadership – Public Sector (large and small)
  • Entrepreneur Leadership
  • Government Leadership
  • Education IT Leadership
  • Health IT Leadership
  • Global Impact Leadership
  • Unsung Hero
  • Rising Star
