SRA will operate all facets of HHS health care data bank
SRA International has won a five-year, $78.5 million contract to operate a federal health care data bank.
Under the contract, SRA will provide all services to operate the data bank, which consists of the National Practitioner Data Bank and the Healthcare Integrity and Protection Data Bank, on behalf of the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration, a division of the Health and Human Services Department, according to a Jan. 9 company announcement.
Contracted services include full life-cycle system and software development, call center operations, document processing, security, business process modeling, enterprise content management, data analytics, business continuity planning, policy support, event planning, and operations and maintenance.
The Data Bank is a confidential information clearinghouse established by Congress to improve health care quality, protect the public, and reduce health care fraud and abuse, the announcement explained.
SRA International Inc., of Fairfax, Va., ranks No. 29 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
