Raytheon acquires a second cybersecurity company

Raytheon has acquired Henggeler Computer Consultants, a cybersecutiry and software engineering firm, it was announced in a Dec. 29 statement.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The buy makes it the contractor's second similar deal in December. In another cybersecutiry-related acquisition, Raytheon purchased Pikewerks Corp. of Madison, Ala., on Dec. 5.

"The addition of Henggeler will further strengthen Raytheon's capabilities and competitiveness in cybersecurity," said Lynn Dugle, president of Raytheon's Intelligence and Information Systems business, in the announcement.

Henggeler, based in Columbia, Md., specializes in analytics, enterprise architecture, software and cloud-based solutions.

With the acquisition the defense and homeland security contractor will expand its horizons to serve customers in the cybersecutiry, enterprise architecture and systems engineering arena within the the intelligence and defense communities, the announcement said.

Raytheon Co., of Waltham, Mass., ranks No. 4 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
