General Dynamics provides HHS with software, tech aid

General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics Corp., has won a five-year, $10.7 million contract from the Health and Human Services Department to provide software development, training and technical assistance.

As a result, GDIT will provide the HHS Office of Child Care with training and technical assistance to grantees and partners funded by the OCC, according to a Dec. 1 announcement.

The Office of Child Care provides child care financial assistance to low-income working families and improves the quality of early care and education and afterschool programs.

The assistance includes software development and website management services, data analysis and feedback on program accomplishments.

General Dynamics has provided the OCC with a variety of IT services since 2000, including development and management of three agency web sites, the announcement said.

General Dynamics Corp., of Falls Church, Va., ranks No. 5 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
