CGI to break out health care revenue

Because of its growth and its importance for the company going forward, CGI Group has decided to start breaking out its health care revenue as a separate vertical segment.

“Health is an important market and represents a significant growth opportunity for CGI,” said Michael E. Roach, president and CEO. “By reporting health separately, our clients and investors will have greater visibility into our operations, including the depth and breadth of our capabilities.”

Currently, the health care sector is embedded within both the government and financial services verticals.

Over the past three years, the compounded annual growth rate of CGI’s health sector has been 28.1 percent. It generates $350 million in annual revenue. As of Sept. 30, the health sector had an order backlog of more than $1.2 billion.

CGI provides health IT outsourcing, application renovation, software installation and integration, application enhancement, production support, legacy systems sunset and project management, the company said in its announcement. Solutions include electronic medical records, health information exchange, collaborative care and disease management, medical bill recovery audits, health insurance exchange and core system replacements services.
