Tetra Tech buys State Department consulting company

PRO-telligent has more than 600 employees and approximately $100 million in annual revenue

Tetra Tech Inc. has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the State Department consulting firm PRO-telligent LLC. The terms of acquisition were not disclosed.

PRO-telligent, which has more than 600 employees and approximately $100 million in annual revenue, provides a wide range of technical support services primarily to State locations worldwide, according to a Sept. 16 company announcement.

Upon completion of the acquisition, the company will join Tetra Tech’s Technical Support Services business segment.

“PRO-telligent performs the type of strategy and planning work that precedes our foreign policy implementation work for the U.S. Agency for International Development,” Dan Batrack, Tetra Tech’s chairman and CEO, said in the announcement. “This move complements our strategy to better serve our [State] customer, a long-term goal we’ve expressed for several years.”

PRO-telligent, founded in 2000, includes highly specialized security-cleared foreign affairs and international development experts, engineering and IT professionals, management consultants, and support personnel.

Tetra Tech Inc., of Pasadena, Calif., ranks No. 87 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
