6 contractors share $210M DOD information assurance awards
Awardees will provide tactical, strategic and operations support
Six government contractors have each won a Defense Department contract worth more than $40 million to provide support services to the Navy and other unnamed DOD and federal agencies, according to a Sept. 8 announcement.
BAE Systems Information Solutions Inc., Booz Allen Hamilton Inc., Computer Sciences Corp., Honeywell Technology Solutions, Inc, Science Applications International Corp. and Scientific Research Corp., have each received $40,055,252 indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity, cost-plus-fixed-fee, performance-based contracts to provide tactical, strategic and operations support services with an emphasis on information assurance, the DOD announcement said.
These contracts include options, which if exercised, would bring their cumulative value to an estimated $210,568,360.
The work, which will be performed in Charleston, S.C., and Washington, D.C., is expected to be completed by September 2012. But if all options are exercised, the work could continue until September 2016.
These multiple-award contracts were competitively procured via the Commerce Business Daily’s Federal Business Opportunities website, and the SPAWAR e-Commerce Central website, with 14 offers received.
Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic, Charleston, S.C., is the contracting activity.
BAE Systems, of Arlington, Va., ranks No. 17 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors. Booz Allen, of McLean, Va., ranks No. 9; CSC, of Falls Church, Va., ranks No. 11; Honeywell International Inc., of Morristown, N.J., ranks No. 26 and SAIC, of McLean, Va., ranks No. 6.
