TASC wins $97M weapons support contract
Company's team will support Defense Threat Reduction Agency
TASC Inc. won a $97 million contract from the Defense Threat Reduction Agency to provide advisory and assistance services.
The main customer will be the agency’s Combat Support and Nuclear Support directorates.
TASC will provide contingency planning for weapons of mass destruction and the safety, security and effectiveness of the U.S. nuclear deterrent.
“Possession of WMD and nuclear capability by hostile nations and terrorists is one of the greatest threats to the United States,” Pamela Drew, senior vice president of enterprise solutions at TASC, said in a statement.
The company has supported the agency for nearly 40 years, Drew said.
Under the contract, TASC will support directorate leadership, consequence management, contingency operations and the Defense Threat Reduction University. The company will also support nuclear programs and stockpile operations to help ensure the effectiveness of the U.S. nuclear deterrent, TASC said.
The company is leading a team that includes Analytic Services Inc. (ANSER), ARServices, A-T Solutions, Dynamis Inc., URS Group Inc., Universal Solutions International Inc., and Watermark Risk Management International LLC.
Most of the work will be performed at Fort Belvoir, Va., Kirkland Air Force Base, New Mexico, and the Pentagon.
