Accenture names former Lockheed, ITT exec as federal lead

Kay Kapoor takes over as as leader of Accenture's federal practice.

Kay Kapoor has been tapped to lead the federal practice of Accenture’s health and public service group.

She replaces Lisa Mascolo who left several months ago to pursue other interests, an Accenture spokeswoman said.

Kapoor comes to Accenture after a short stint at ITT Corp., where she was vice president of the company’s advanced information systems unit. She joined ITT in October.

Prior to ITT, she served for 20 years at Lockheed Martin, including being the vice president of and deputy to the president of company’s federal civilian business.

Accenture’s federal customers include the departments of Homeland Security, Health and Human Services and Education, the Postal Service, Army, Air Force, Navy and the Defense Logistics Agency.

Kapoor was recognized as a 2010 Federal 100 winner by Washington Technology’s sister publication Federal Computer Week. She’s also active with the American Council for Technology/Industry Advisory Council, TechAmerica, the Society of Women Engineers and Women in Technology. She holds an master's degree in business from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor's degree in information systems from the University of Maryland.
