BAE fills new intelligence VP position
Brian Sheridan brings two decades of managing complex, large-scale projects to new post
Brian Sheridan has joined BAE Systems’ Intelligence & Security sector as vice president and deputy general manager of strategic initiatives and global business.
He will report to sector president John Gannon, according to a BAE announcement released today.
The I&S business unit, based in Arlington, Va., focuses on four customer missions: intelligence and counterintelligence, homeland security, law enforcement, and support to military operations.
Sheridan brings to the newly created position two decades of experience managing complex, large-scale projects for public- and private-sector customers. He will use this experience to strategically serve customers in the intelligence, defense and law enforcement communities.
He also will have major responsibility for guiding the growth of the sector’s international business.
Sheridan joined BAE Systems from Bechtel, where he served as the deputy project manager for the Dulles Metro Corridor Project, a multibillion-dollar effort to extend rail service to Dulles International Airport.
He previously worked as a CIA intelligence analyst and as assistant secretary for special operations and low-intensity conflict at the Defense Department.
Sheridan earned an undergraduate degree from Boston College, a master’s degree from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
BAE Systems, of Rockville, Md., ranks No. 15 on Washington Technology’s 2010 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
