Qlarion call ushers in new federal solutions provider
New company formerly was CadenceQuest Government Solutions unit
As federal agencies seek to adopt best practices from the commercial world, contractors that offer business intelligence and data mining solutions are experiencing strong growth.
Seeking to take advantage of that burgeoning market, CadenceQuest Inc. is spinning off its CadenceQuest Government Solutions unit into an independent company renamed Qlarion Inc.
The new firm will continue to focus on providing business intelligence, data mining and data management solutions to government clients and others in the public sector, according to company officials.
The parent company’s leadership team, BI staff and data technology experts will transition to Qlarion, which will operate as a Small Business Administration-certified small business, the officials said.
“Our Public Sector clients – government agencies, government-sponsored enterprises (GSEs) and commercial organizations that support the public sector mission – will have our complete focus going forward,” said Jake Bittner, Qlarion's CEO, in a statement posted on the Arlington, Va., company’s Web site.
Bittner previously served as an account executive at SAP Business Objects, where he sold BI and information management solutions to government and retail customers.
Earlier in his career, Bittner was a federal team member at MicroStrategy Inc., where he sold and implemented BI solutions to federal agencies.
Qlarion clients include the Education Department, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and the legislative branch of the federal government.
A formal announcement on the new company is expected to be released May 3.
