General Dynamics to assist Coast Guard with telecom needs
The Coast Guard has selected General Dynamics Information Technology to help operate and maintain its telecommunications and information systems.
A unit of General Dynamics Corp. will help the Coast Guard operate and maintain its telecommunications, electronics and information systems under a contract valued at $140 million over five years.
General Dynamics Information Technology, of Fairfax, Va., was awarded the task order under the Homeland Security Department’s Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading-Edge Solutions (EAGLE) contract.
Under the task order, General Dynamics IT will support the Coast Guard’s Telecommunication and Information Systems Command, offering engineering, operations and maintenance support, company officials said today. The contract spans both classified and unclassified computer environments for land-based and mobile-based systems, the officials said.
Earlier this year, General Dynamics went through a change of leadership as its former chief executive retired and became chairman.
