QinetiQ to support testing of Marines’ EFV components

Contractor to plan and conduct C3I tests, furnish data analysis

QinetiQ North America will assist with the testing of command, control, communications and intelligence functions on the Marine Corps’ expeditionary fighting vehicle under a three-year, $3.7 million contract.

QinetiQ North America’s Systems Engineering Group will plan and conduct tests involving C3I components for the EFV, company officials said July 1. The contractor will also furnish data analysis of the tests.

The work was awarded through the Commercial Enterprise Omnibus Support Services contract administered by the Marine Corps Systems Command.

The EFV is the Marine Corps’ next-generation advanced amphibious assault vehicle. Scheduled for deployment in 2015, it will be able to transport a Marine Corps rifle squad from ship to shore and carry troops on land.

QinetiQ North America, of McLean, Va., ranks No. 34 on Washington Technology’s 2009 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
