SRA will upgrade DOD Joint Staff IT functions

The contract seeks to fully integrate the JSIN information technology functions

SRA International Inc. will provide new communications infrastructure for the Defense Department’s Joint Staff Information Network under a task order from the Encore II contract vehicle. If all options are exercised, the 31-month contract could be worth as much as $63 million.

Under the contract, SRA will support the Joint Staff goal to fully integrate information technology functions that deliver project management, development, testing, sustainment, end-user support, asset management and procurement.

The primary objective is to seamlessly integrate new technologies and make necessary updates to systems and applications that maximize capability and deliver reliable, timely and sustainable IT services for all JSIN staff members, SRA officials said.

SRA will be assuming the operation, maintenance and modernization of the existing Joint Staff communications infrastructure, including servers, networks and desktops.

The contractor also will initiate and participate in new projects to ensure the use of the latest technology and implement improvements for security and performance.

SRA International, of Fairfax, Va., ranks No. 26 on Washington Technology’s 2009 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
