CGI Federal Inc. will provide maintenance and software support to the General Services Administration under a five-year contract valued at $52 million.

The award calls for CGI Federal, the U.S. operating subsidiary of CGI Group Inc., to provide operations and maintenance support and software upgrades for GSA’s Pegasys financial management application.

The company’s data center in Phoenix hosts the system, which uses CGI’s Momentum financial management software. The system supports 11 regions across the country and processes nearly 20 million transactions totaling more than $24 billion annually.

Under the contract, CGI will provide project management, production support, testing, development and implementation support, and software upgrades and maintenance.

CGI has been providing technical support and software maintenance for GSA’s Pegasys for more than 10 years, said George Schindler, president of CGI Federal.

CGI Group, of Montreal, ranks No. 78 on Washington Technology’s 2009 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
