Alliant Small Business is a go

The General Services Administration gave the all clear this week to the contractors tapped for the $15 billion Alliant Small Business contract.

The agency issued a notice to proceed for the contract, which agencies can now use to order information technology products and services.

In its notice, GSA asked agencies that are interested in receiving training on how to use the contract to send requests to alliantsb@gsa.gov.

GSA announced the awards in December with 72 companies winning spots on the contract. That announcement was a year after the contract was first awarded and then delayed after questions were raised about how past performance was evaluated on its companion contract, Alliant Full and Open.

The full and open contract is still not off the ground as GSA re-evaluates those awards and a decision on those awards is expected in the coming months.

The pair of Alliant contracts replace several governmentwide contracts. Agencies will use the contracts to purchase a broad range of IT products and services.
