Alion Science and Technology will provide laptop computer and other anti-submarine warfare training systems to the Navy under a new contract.

Alion Science and Technology Inc. will provide laptop computer-based, integrated anti-submarine warfare training systems to the Navy under a five-year, $37.93 million contract.

Under the award, Alion will assist the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division in Orlando, Fla., in developing Mission Rehearsal Tactical Team Trainer technologies for the Navy's SH-60B and SH-60F helicopters. The contract also calls for upgrades and lifecycle support at Air Warfare Center training locations worldwide.

The contract will result in continued portable, high-fidelity training solutions to the Navy, allowing officers and men to train in an operationally relevant synthetic battlespace, Dick Brooks, senior vice president and manager of Alion's Distributed Simulation Group, said in a statement Sept. 30.

Subcontractors include Advanced Acoustic Concepts, A. Harold and Associates LLC, ASTi Inc., Camber Corp., DiSTI Corp., Lockheed Martin Corp., MTS Technologies Inc., Novonics Corp., RDR Inc., Referentia Systems Inc., Science Applications International Corp. and Sonalysts Inc.

The contract runs through Aug. 14, 2013.

Alion, of McLean, Va., ranks No. 31 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
