Oracle levels theft accusation against SAP

Oracle Corp. claimed Monday that rival SAP knowingly bought an illegal operation that was set up to steal Oracle products and customers, the Associated Press reported.

The allegations are part of a fraud case that Oracle brought against SAP last year in a U.S. federal court in San Francisco. The lawsuit stems from SAP's acquisition of TomorrowNow, a software maintenance company that SAP acquired in 2005 in response to Oracle's acquisition of PeopleSoft.

Oracle alleges TomorrowNow broke into Oracle computers to access confidential information.

Oracle is ranked No. 59 on Washington Technology's Top 100 list of the largest government contractors.
