Enterprise resource planning

Travis County, Texas, wants financial and enterprise
resource planning systems. A request for proposals
is expected in October.

The contractor would be required to provide systems
that furnish controls for regulatory and business
compliance; improve
forecasting, budgeting and
cost accounting; and enhance
productivity and efficiency of business units'
processes and procedures.

Programming support services
The New Mexico Children, Youth and Families
Department wants a contractor to provide programming
support services for the Family Automated
Client Tracking System. An
RFP is expected in December.

The contractor would be
required to participate in systems development,
document requirements, design and develop software,
conduct software testing, correct system deficiencies
and prepare system documentation.

Shared-services initiative

The New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority
wants a contractor to provide a shared-services ERP
system. An RFP is expected in July.

The MTA is establishing a business service center
where it will merge all its functions
for processing transactions.

The new unit will use
PeopleSoft financial and human resource systems
and other technologies to drive efficiency and cut
costs. The contractor would be responsible for the
research, design and implementation of the
PeopleSoft ERP system.

Digital radio system

Baltimore wants a contractor to provide a digital
radio communications system. An RFP is expected
in September.

The contractor would be
required to engineer and
design the system. It also
would be required to provide all products and
professional services necessary to install, test
and transfer existing operations to a digital communications
system operating at both 700 MHz
and 800 MHz frequencies.
