As the prime contractor on the FBI's NextGeneration Identification System, Lockheed MartinCorp. will provide program management, biometricsand large systems development, oversight andintegration expertise. IBM will supply some informationtechnology services in addition to specificsoftware and hardware."We're pulling integration skills together, we'rebringing subject domain experts in different elementsthan biometrics, we're bringing our fusionexperts across the corporation together," said JudyMarks, president of Lockheed Martin'sTransportation and Security Solutions. "We're actuallyusing several different business units withinLockheed Martin to optimize the data fusion."Lockheed Martin will also recommend the bestnew innovative products available to the FBI, sheadded.In addition to IBM, the Lockheed Martin teamincludes Accenture LLP, BAE Systems InformationTechnology Inc., Global Science and TechnologyInc., Innovative Management and TechnologyServices LLC, Platinum Solutions Inc., and theNational Center for State Courts.Accenture will provide services in businessarchitecture, training, service-oriented architectureand biometric interoperability. BAE Systems IT willwork on external interface requirements engineeringand security design.GST and IMTS, small West Virginia businessesthat have worked with Lockheed Martin on theIntegrated Automated Fingerprint IdentificationSystem program, will provide program continuity andsystems engineering. Platinum Solutions is workingwith the FBI laboratory on related technologies.NCSC will help determine and oversee the program'sprivacy considerations and provide guidanceon activities involving the state courts.Lockheed's Biometric Experimentation andAdvanced Concepts Center in White Hall, W.Va.,which opened in May 2007, will also assist on thecontract.The project is not limited to West Virginia. Workis also being done in Orlando, Fla., where the IAFISsystem was developed, and Washington, D.C.
