Science Applications International Corp. hascompleted its acquisition of SM ConsultingInc., a provider of information technology andlinguistic services. Financial terms were notdisclosed.SAIC announced its intention to buy the companyin March. SMC, of Linthicum, Md., will joinSAIC's Mission Integration Business Unit, which isbased in Reston, Va.DRS Technologies Inc. is being acquired for $5.2 billionby Finmeccanica SpA, an Italian defense companylooking to expand into the U.S. market.The Parsippany, N.J., company would be a whollyowned subsidiary.Finmeccanica has several U.S. subsidiaries,most of which perform helicopter and aircraft work.Trace Systems LLC, a McLean, Va., systems integratorand technical services company, bought TCPNetwork Solutions Inc.Financial terms were not disclosed. Acquisitionof the Eatontown, N.J., company brings TraceSystems more capabilities in defense informationtechnology and communications.Perot Systems Corp., of Plano, Texas, bought governmentinformation technology services providerOriginal Solutions Ltd., based in Ireland. Financialterms were not disclosed.Original Solutions' competencies include Webapplications and client/server development, enterpriseintegration, systems re-engineering, and managingIT services and infrastructure library processes,Perot officials said.
