DHS seeks off-the-shelf analytic tools

The Homeland Security Department wants a contractor to supply integrated off-the-shelf products that will gather IP routing data for technical studies and analyses.

The purpose of the solicitation is to obtain analytic tools and expertise to improve the government's understanding of Internet assets and their influence on the survivability of national security, emergency preparedness and federal agency communications.

The contractor should provide a software-based analytic tool and corresponding data that can identify network anomalies and determine how they affect users, characterize the relationships between Internet service providers and other infrastructure providers, and integrate internal and external routing, inventory and activity data.

The software should be able to collect global Internet routing data, collect and visualize data for investigation of malicious activities, visualize global and local networks with Google Earth-like functionality, and interoperate with existing systems and data sources.

Responses are due by March 19.
