AT&T to supply voice services to Customs and Border Protection

AT&T Inc. will provide voice services for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency under a task order that could be worth up to $20 million.

The Homeland Security Department awarded the task order under the Networx Universal contract. The task order has a four-year base period and three optional two-year extensions.

AT&T will become the primary provider of network voice services to Customs and Border Protection's 47,000 employees around the country.

The company already provides network voice communications to other DHS agencies, including the Coast Guard, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the Transportation Security Administration.

Based in San Antonio, AT&T ranks No. 67 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
