Harris trio gets new federal business posts
Harris Corp. has made three new senior executive assignments within its federal government businesses. The changes are effective immediately.
The Melbourne, Fla., company named Sheldon Fox president of national intelligence programs. Fox, who had been president of defense programs, succeeds Russell Haney, who will retire at the end of the year. Fox joined Harris in 1984 and has held several senior leadership positions.
Wesley Covell, formerly vice president of engineering, will succeed Fox as president of defense programs. Covell joined Harris in 1990 as a lead engineer.
R. Kent Buchanan, previously vice president of corporate technology and development, is now vice president of engineering for government communications systems and chief technology officer. Buchanan joined Harris in 2005 as vice president of corporate technology and development.
Howard Lance, chairman, president and chief executive officer, said the new assignments will allow Harris to meet the needs of an expanding base of customers in the intelligence, defense and civil areas of its government businesses.
