Harris closes Multimax dealHarris Corp. completed its $400 million acquisition of Multimax Inc. of Herndon, Va., to bolster its technical services business.
With the Multimax acquisition, Melbourne, Fla.-based Harris gets several large task-order contracts, including the Army's Information Technology Enterprise Solutions 2 Services and the Air Force's Network Centric Solutions contracts.
Multimax will become part of the new Harris Information Technology Services unit, led by Ted Hengst and based in Falls Church, Va.
IBM to acquire TelelogicIBM Corp. will offer about $745 million to buy outstanding shares of Swedish software development tool maker Telelogic AB.
The acquisition agreement that IBM and Telelogic worked out must be approved by 90 percent of stockholders and get regulatory and governmental clearances.
When the deal closes, Telelogic, based in Malmö with U.S. headquarters in Irvine, Calif., will become part of IBM's Rational Software division.
Parent firms carve up AmsecNorthrop Grumman Corp. and Science Applications International Corp. plan to restructure their joint venture, Amsec LLC of Virginia Beach, Va.
Amsec, which has grown to $500 million in 2007 revenue from $100 million in 2000, provides engineering, logistics and technical support primarily to Navy ship and aviation programs.
Northrop Grumman's Newport News, Va., sector will retain the ship engineering, logistics and technical services businesses under the Amsec name.
SAIC will assume Amsec's aviation, combat systems and strike force integration services, including Amsec subsidiary Eagan, McAllister Associates Inc. The services will be integrated into SAIC's Defense Solutions Group.
