NIH agency extends software pact

Aquilent Inc. has been awarded a five-year, $25 million contract from the National Library of Medicine for continued software support services to NLM's Lister Hill National Center for Biomedical Communication. NLM is an agency of the National Institutes of Health.
The Lister Hill center is a research and development arm of NLM; its mission is to improve access to high-quality biomedical information.
Under the contract, Aquilent will continue developing improvements for access to biomedical information around the world. Support services include:
- Unified Medical Language System
- Medical Article Record System
- Semantic Knowledge Representation
- NLM Gateway and Content-Based Image Retrieval.
Aquilent's project team includes Science Applications International Corp. of San Diego.
