ABCs of data warehousing

The Wisconsin Administration Department wants a contractor to develop a longitudinal data warehouse for the Wisconsin Public Instruction Department. A request for proposals is expected in September.

The data warehouse will deliver Web-based reports and analytical processing tools to end users and serve as a data repository for both relational and online analytical processing tools. The project is funded by a three-year grant from the National Center for Education Statistics.

Finance management in New York

The New York Budget Division and the Office of the Chief Information Officer are heading an initiative to design, buy and implement a single financial management system for state government. An RFP is expected in late summer.

The state plans to bring up the first wave of agencies simultaneously with the implementation of a new central accounting system by the State Comptroller.

Electronic health records system

The Texas Aging and Disability Services Department wants a contractor to implement an electronic health records system. An RFP is expected in August or September.

The department wants a system that can retain comprehensive electronic records for health care, ancillary services and social services and support. This will be for long-term care that is regulated and operated by the agency's nursing facilities and state mental retardation facilities.

Md. wants better tax collection

The Maryland Office of the Comptroller of the Treasury wants to modernize its computer-assisted tax collection system to use data more efficiently. An RFP is expected in November.

The state is interested in solutions for both computer assisted collections and data warehousing. The new system ultimately must interface with the state's mainframe-based Integrated Tax System.
