Washington Technology magazine wins Neal award

The May 23, 2005, issue of Washington Technology, which led with the hot topic of privacy protection, has won a Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Award in the "Best Single Issue of a Newspaper/News Tabloid" category.

The Neal award "recognizes the breadth of our understanding of the government IT marketplace, and confirms that we do a good job of conveying news and trends to our readers in a compelling way," said Editor Nick Wakeman.

Alice Lipowicz wrote the privacy protection article for the May 23 issue. The issue also contained articles on IT "boot camps" by Roseanne Gerin; an article on Virginia's IT outsourcing mega deal by William Welsh; and an article on videoconferencing technology for courts by Doug Beizer.
