Anteon wins Air Force patient safety program deal

Anteon International Corp. will play a key support role for an Air Force program designed to provide better and safer healthcare services to service personnel stationed around the globe.

The Fairfax, Va., company won an $18.5 million, five-year contract with the Air Force Surgeon General to establish and operate the Military Health System Patient Safety Systems Support and Data Analysis Program at 34 Air Force sites in the United States, Germany, Italy, United Kingdom, Korea and Japan.

The company will manage daily patient safety program systems support and data analysis operations covering all aspects of inpatient and ambulatory care, support functions and collaboration with the Performance Improvement, Quality Management and Risk Management offices.

In the process, Anteon will identify, recommend and implement improvements and organizational changes that would lead to safer patient care.

Anteon has about 9,500 employees and annual revenue of $1.3 billion. The company ranks No. 13 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors.
