Pitney Bowes Inc. launched a new data collection, track and trace solution to help police departments manage evidence and property, officials from the Stamford, Conn., company said.

The Arrival Law Enforcement solution lets law enforcement officials track and trace handguns, forensic evidence, drugs and cash that move among departments during a criminal investigation.

The software is designed to replace manual record-keeping systems. Handheld scanners or Web cams can be used to tag, bar code or digitally photograph items.
