WFI acquires network company

Wireless Facilities Inc. has acquired TLA Associates, a provider of network services, for $34 million in cash, the company announced Jan. 27.

Wireless Facilities Inc. has acquired TLA Associates, a provider of network services, for $34 million in cash, the company announced Jan. 27.

The acquisition of TLA of Alexandria, Va., will boost San Diego-based WFI's network services capabilities as well as bring it new clients, company officials said. The company will pick up 180 network engineers and other network professionals through the acquisition.

TLA services include design, development, integration and maintenance of networks, mission-critical applications and network security systems. WFI offers systems engineering, network services and technical outsourcing for commercial and government clients.
