Former GAO exec joins consultancy

David McClure

Erstwhile top-level Government Accountability Office analyst David McClure has joined Gartner Inc. as research director of the IT consultancy's Global Public Sector research group.

Previously, McClure was vice president for e-government and technology with the Council for Excellence in Government in Washington, a non-profit group focused on improving government performance. He also was director for IT management issues at GAO.

McClure, who will be based in McLean, Va., has been involved in both the policy and implementation of government IT, the Stamford, Conn., firm said.
