States search for Medicare systems

The North Dakota Department of Human Services is planning to replace its Medicaid management information system. The RFP is expected in January.

Options include building a custom system rather than acquiring and modifying a system; outsourcing part or all of the system; transferring a system from another entity and modifying it; or partnering with another state for operations.

The Mississippi Medicaid Division also is rebidding its fiscal agent contract for its Medicaid management information system. The division is hiring a consultant to develop the implementation plan and RFP.

The solicitation for the consultant is expected in late November or December.

These opportunities are compiled by Federal Sources Inc., a market research firm in McLean, Va. (www.fedsources.com)
