Contracts: Opportunity Knocking
Denver seeks CRM system. The city and county of Denver want to develop a customer relationship management system that lets citizens and businesses interact with local government via the Web, e-mail, phone, fax and in person.
One goal is an 80 percent resolution rate on the first contact. Metrics will be collected for operations review and analysis. Objectives include integration with back-office systems. A work request system will be developed to route requests to the correct agency. Denver officials also want to collect data on agency performance. The request for proposals is expected in December.
R.I. telecom infrastructure
Rhode Island wants to consolidate its IT functions into a single agency, part of which includes developing an integrated telecommunications infrastructure. The infrastructure will support public safety services from routine situations to large-scale disasters. All state agencies will use it. The state wants a master plan developed by Jan. 31. The RFP to implement the plan will be released in March.
E-911 update needed
The fire and police departments of Manchester, N.H., want to update their computer-aided dispatch system, which runs in IBM RISC 6000s.
The city is building a fiber-connected emergency operations center. The city also has a high-speed metropolitan area network. All workstation and service connections are switched 10/100/1000 Ethernet. Desktop PCs are running Windows 2000. The RFP is expected in January.
LA photo system sought
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department wants a digital-photo evidence-imaging information system to replace its Windows NT-based system. Officials are interested in a system that can capture, annotate, catalog and retrieve images of confiscated drug evidence. The RFP is expected in December.
