The lines were long and frustrating on election day, but from an orbit 225 miles above Earth, astronaut space station astronaut Leroy Chiao went straight to the front. Chiao became the first American to vote for president from outer space, according to the Associated Press. Chiao sent his vote to his home state of Texas via an encrypted e-mail. He declined to say for whom he voted.
