VA develops networking contract

The Veterans Affairs Department will ask vendors for proposals on how they would ensure that the department's new communications systems will keep its business operations running.

The department expects to release a request for proposals Oct. 15 for an enterprise Telecommunications Operations Support System.

The project will build on the environment built by the VA Telecommunications Modernization Project to improve the departmentwide WAN into a national integrated services platform, a VA notice said last week.
