Smart portal and document management systems provider NMS Imaging Inc., Silver Spring, Md., has named James Karl to the newly created position of director of sales. Karl was formerly federal sales manager for document management provider Iron Mountain Ltd.

P.J. Lynch has left NCR Corp. to become executive vice president of wide area surveillance solutions provider VistaScape Security Systems Inc. of Atlanta. The former Air Force weapons system developer will oversee alliances and business development, marketing and professional services at VistaScape.

Christopher Cressy has been appointed senior director of federal sales for digital video surveillance provider BroadWare Technologies Inc., Cupertino, Calif. Cressy comes to BroadWare from the Boeing Co., where he was director of enterprise security solutions for defense and homeland security organizations.

Joe Lopez has left his position of senior vice president of government operations at Haliburton KBR to become president of IT service integrator Information Management Corp. Rocket Center, W.Va.

At GTSI Corp., Chantilly, Va., Ken Everist is now vice president of pricing, and David Samuels is vice president of finance and corporate controller. Everist comes to GTSI from hardware and software reseller Softmart Inc., where he was senior vice president of sales and marketing. Samuels was senior vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer for E-centives, a publicly traded direct marketing technology and service software company.

Gary Labovich, most recently a senior vice president at American Management Systems Inc., has been named a vice president at Booz Allen Hamilton Inc., McLean, Va. Labovich will specialized in the IT services and consulting company's civil systems and communications business.

Robert Weaver, former deputy director for the Homeland Security Department, has joined IT security consultancy Stroz Friedberg LLC in New York as vice president and director. Weaver will help private and public-sector organizations strengthen their security concerns homeland, physical and cybersecurity.

Ranganath Nayak has joined Cytel Software Corp., Cambridge, Mass., as chief executive officer. Nayak was formerly CEO of online buying software maker Auripay Inc. Also new to Cytel is longtime software company revenue manager Steve Herbert as vice president of sales and business development.

Rick Knapp, formerly with Sygate Technologies Inc. and Micromuse Inc., joined network management software maker Intelliden Corp. as managing director of its government sales division.
