Contracts: Opportunity Knocking

Texas A&M needs HR system

Texas A&M University is planning a request for proposals for an enterprisewide system to manage student and human resource records, including payroll. The RFP is expected by the end of the summer.

The university plans to replace the student information system serving the main campus at College Station and the Galveston branch campus. The system will serve students, faculty and staff as well as staff of some closely related state agencies based in College Station. The system would have to interface with the financial accounting, budget, and data warehouse systems operated by the Texas A&M University System offices.

Minnesota prepares real estate RFP

The Minnesota State Legislature Legislative Coordinating Commission may release a solicitation in late 2004 or early 2005 for a statewide electronic real estate recording system.

The system will file and record real estate documents electronically. The pilot program is under way in five counties, and the commission is looking into releasing a solicitation for statewide implementation.

N.Y. wants long-term care system

The New York Office of Medicaid Management is developing a contract to create a point-of-entry system for the state's long-term care system. The Access New York Services with Effective Responsive Support, or Answers, will be a bridge between consumers and services for private-pay consumers, and will link eligible consumers with public services.

Some of the functions include public relations and community education, information and assistance, initial screening, pre-admission assessments for nursing home placement, comprehensive needs assessments, and service and care coordination. The RFP is expected in September.

Federal Sources Inc., a market research firm in McLean, Va. (www.fedsources.com), compiled these opportunities.
