The Air Force is spending $2 million on new data-sleuthing software to improve intelligence gathering by Air Force Intelligence and the Homeland Security Department.Media analysis software developer Cymfony Inc., Newton, Mass., won three contracts from the Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate for a text-mining solution to identify hidden patterns in documents; enhanced extraction software to better pinpoint times and dates of events; and new extraction software to identify and address gaps in current information discovery technology.
