'Bot sniffs out chemicals, toxins

A robot from NetBotz Inc. soon could be roaming subways, ready to alert officials over an IP network, telephone line or cellular network if any of its minions -- sensors gathering data in tunnels miles away -- detect a threat.

The IP-based security solution from NetBotz Inc. of Austin, Texas, integrates with sensors from Sunnyvale, Calif.-based RAE Systems Inc. to detect life threatening gases, chemicals and radiation.
