Daniel Allen was appointed senior vice president and deputy general manager of General Dynamics Network Systems in Needham, Mass., where he will focus on operations and process improvement. He will continue as leader of the company's enterprise networks business area.

Appointments

Joan Byrnes joined Andrew Corp., an Orland Park, Ill., provider of communications equipment and solutions, as vice president and general manager of satellite communications. Byrnes was previously at Loral Skynet, a division of Loral Space & Communications.

RSM McGladrey Government Contracting Consulting Group, Bethesda, Md., hired Steven Easley as an audit director. Easley has 20 years of experience in public and private auditing.

Lucent Technologies, a Washington network provider, named Thomas Miller as vice president of a team focusing on the federal government market. He was previously with Oracle Corp. Lucent also named Patricia Rimo as global government affairs vice president. She was previously with Science Applications International Corp.

Lockheed Martin Corp. named Thomas Grumbly as vice president and customer relations executive for Lockheed Martin Information Technology in Seabrook, Md. He will focus on that unit's IT business in three federal government sectors ? energy, environment and transportation ? concentrating on enterprise and business solutions.

ObjectVideo, a Reston, Va., provider of video security software, appointed Raul Fernandez as chairman of its board of directors. Fernandez founded Proxicom, which he sold in 2001 to Dimension Data North America.

EDO Corp., a New York provider of military products and professional services, named retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Leslie Kenne to its board of directors. Kenne had most recently been deputy chief of staff for Warfighting Integration at the Air Force headquarters in Washington.

W&B PR, a Herndon, Va., affiliate of White & Baldacci, added Piper Conrad as a senior account executive in the technology practice, and Dan Stone as account executive in the consumer practice. Most recently, Conrad worked with Glynn Technologies, and Stone worked at Edelman Public Relations.
